b. 2002 - Cape town, RSA
I am Abulele Zantsi, I am a freelance illustrator and designer. I consider myself as a mixed medium illustrator. In my work I explore cultural identity and share my thoughts and concerns of society using mix media (ink, gauche, watercolor, collage and digital). I take inspiration from three different worlds, Emakhaya
(villages), ekasi (township) and suburbs, its all about the energy. People see my work as celebrating the underdog and I fully agree with that as much as it happens unconsciously, that’s the energy they get from my work. I would love to see my work on alcohol, fashion brands and murals. I would also love to make picture books, surfaces and wall papers.
